The R3C3 is setting up a technical meeting between the R3C3 technical Subcommittee, City engineers and the Provincial engineers in the next week or so.
Incidentally, the timing is very good as Minister Blackett is in the
process of setting up a community Open House between the City, Province
and the community for the week of 30 March.

Why the big push now when this has been in the plans for years? It has not been a secret that it was going to be closed there has always been signs up stating this. I moved into the area and bought the house that I reside in knowing that it was getting closed and that I would have another 5 min added to my commute time. If you really wanted it left open this should have happened long ago.
ReplyDeleteAre you asking why people don't read every notice they should? or why people don't get involved in their neighbourhoods? I don't have answers for those questions.
ReplyDeleteI don't always read every sign that I should and I don't always believe every plans I hear about will actually pan out.
I'd heard about the Rocky Ridge Road closure several times before I ever realized it was a permanent closure and that the road was temporary from the beginning. Even after I'd realized I assumed that "someone else will do something" and the road would inevitably stay open.
You are right, it has been years. A lot has changed over those years. It may very well be long past the time that something 'should' have been done but it's not too late!
Do you honestly believe our communities' members and its infrastructure are ready to see this road closed?
